Veterans Services
County VA Program - Medical Center Transportation
The Sherburne County Veterans Service Office operates a 12-passenger van for the purpose of providing transportation to and from the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, for veterans who are unable to transport themselves. Additionally, we can arrange for transportation to the St. Cloud VAMC with volunteer drivers using their privately owned vehicles. This service is provided free of charge and is funded largely by Sherburne County and by donations.
- Passengers must be able to travel on public transportation.
- currently operates Monday through Thursday for appointments at Minneapolis VA Medical Center between the hours of 9AM and 3PM.
- The van does not run on holidays, or weekends and is not used for emergencies.
- The van will pick up at designated locations throughout the county area
- Call at least 48 hours prior to the appointment date to schedule a ride

Sherburne County Volunteer Driver Program
The Sherburne County Volunteer Driver program provides necessary rides for clients of Sherburne County where no other transportation is available. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (no holidays).
Necessary appointments include:
- Medical
- Social Services
- Mental Health
- Other purposes approved by county workers
In addition, Seniors 65+ may qualify to use the program according to maximum income guidelines.

Metro Bus
Fixed Route and Dial-A-Ride service available 7 days a week. Coverage area includes St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Sartell and Waite Park.
Cost: Effective January 4, 2009 - Cash fare is $.90 and transfer fare is $.25; Seniors and disabled riders fare is $.45 and $.10 transfer fare; Children 5 and under ride free; youth can ride free in the summer. Please contact our office or visit our website for more fare and bus pass information.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Fixed Route Service - available for all general public, all fixed routes are handicap accessible
- Dial-A-Ride Services - Must complete an application and be approved by the committee to ride DAR services. The general public can ride DAR services Monday through Friday from 9:00 pm to Midnight.
