Tri County Action Program
     

Transportation Schedules

The mission of Tri-CAP's Transit Connection and Volunteer Driver Program is to provide safe, dependable, affordable and courteous transportation services for people in rural Stearns and Benton counties.

Public Bus Transit operates in Rural Benton and Stearns Counties, and the city of Little Falls five days per week. The bus service is available to the general public with no age or income requirements. All buses are handicapped accessible. Bus reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance. Bus fares are $1.00 per boarding within communities and $3.00 per boarding for rural to community trips. Schedules are subject change without notice. Public Transportation Options

Benton and Stearns County Dial-a-Ride

Operating Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm. The Dial-A-Ride provides service anywhere within a 20 Mile radius of St.Cloud, outside of the St. Cloud Metro Bus area. Call up two weeks in advance for reservations and bus availability.

Operating Monday thru Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, providing service within the city limits of Sauk Centre and Sauk Centre Township. Call for reservations. Fare is $1.00 per boarding. Township Fares are $3.00 one way

Operating Monday thru Friday from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm, providing service within the city limits of Little Falls. Call for reservations. Fare is $1.00 per boarding.

Operating Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, providing service within the city limits of Melrose. Call for reservations. Fare is $1.00 per boarding.

Transportation Rescource Center

The Transportation Resource Center is ready for your transportation request.
We will assist you in filling your transportation needs such as:
·           Medical and Dental Appointments
·           Physical Therapy
·           Counseling
·           Shopping

The Transportation Resource Center (TRC) will utilize area transport resources to match the passenger with the most suitable and cost effective transportation.  The TRC providers could include mass transit, dial-a-ride services, taxi, private driver, volunteer driver and wheelchair accessible vehicles.  Residents of Benton, Morrison and Stearns Counties can request a ride.  The amount of the fare will depend on personal situation, other reimbursement sources, purpose of transportation, distance and type of transportation.    Volunteer Opportunities

 Volunteer Drivers

Volunteer drivers provide rides using their own private vehicles to the residents of Benton and Stearns counties. Passengers are assigned to volunteers by the Tri-CAP dispatch center and may be traveling to medical appointments or a variety of other destinations. Volunteer drivers are reimbursed at the Federal IRS rate and may also be eligible for some meal reimbursements. Volunteer drivers provide an important service. To quote one of our volunteers "It's a good feeling being a volunteer driver." Call for an application if you would like to have the same "good feeling."
